A multi-member talented family, hmm? BTW, what is the red going down his hand? It almost looks like blood.

It is supposed to be a vein...I need to take a better picture of this one at some point. I had worked on it some more after this picture was taken...it's supposed to be like there is a heart inside the instrument, that is also a part of him.

Ahhh, I understand now. When I looked at the picture of the painting I noticed the "design" on the cello, (it's a bass cello, right? Or am I remembering my instruments incorrectly?) but didn't realize quite what it was. Thanks for explaining.
Hugs,
Anj

I'm not actually sure myself what kind of bass it is...I don't know my instruments at all. It might be a smaller one too, since at that time I think it may have been the schools bass rather than the one he has now...it's funny to me how different my brother looks now since the time I painted this!

It is always interesting to see the progression as someone grows and/or matures. Time never stands still. Watching children grow is like that old, old song that says, "Where are you going my little one, little one? Where are you going, my baby, my own? Turn around and you're three, turn around and you're four, turn around and you're a young girl going out of the door." It was so like that to watch my own children grow up. Sometimes you think time will never pass, and then you look back and you wonder where all the time has gone.
Hugs,
Anj

Time does go by fast. Particularly when kids are very little, then you don't see them for a while, and suddenly they look like teenagers! That happens with kids I used to babysit for in high school--I see them a few years later and they look nothing like I remember them! It is neat to see the man my little brother has become, but I will always think of him as the five year old pretending to be Popeye wearing a little sailor's hat. He was always such an imaginative kid... :)
