Self portrait in gouache, 5" x 7"-ish. This one is the better of the two, I think. Had a lot of blending issues with these.

I really enjoy this drawing. I think working on the colored paper really worked in your favor.

I enjoy the brush work and the mottling. Sorry you feel like you have blending issues. Gouache is pretty tricky. Did you use a wet palette?

I've used the paint both wet and dry...I've used it wet when I want the paint more opaque. Do you like gouache?

yeah, I used it alot in under grad. I found that if you make a wet palette out of newspaper and a glossy magazine page (they sell them at art supply stores too) the paint is less of a pain. For one, it doesn't dry up as quick!

Have you ever used egg tempera? If you like goauche I think you'd love it! Let me know if you want the recipe
